Hope for Amamba Uzuakoli as NEWMAP inspects Erosion site.

Watersheds and erosions has been a great menace to the communities that make up Old Bende, the Uzuakoli community hasn’t been left out in its share of this menace. The Amamba community has recently become the greatest and worst hit community by this environmental degradation. Frightened by a devastating gully at the uzo Amaewu/Amamba Uzuakoli which has destroyed many houses and eaten up over 30% of its land resources, the community has continually called on the government to come to their aid to forestall what could be the extinction of a people. Today, succour has come as a delegation of professionals from the Nigerian erosion and watershed management project alongside the Member representing Bende south state constituency at the Abia state assembly Hon. Emmanuel Chinedu Ndubuisi visited the erosion site to inspect first hand the menace as they promised that the NEWMAP will do their best to tackle the erosion in order not to cause more harm to the society.

The Youth president Uzuakoli Youth Association, Mr. Chijioke Ndubuisi thanked the delegation from NEWMAP and the Member of the State legislator for their swift response following the SOS sent by the community. And prayed that God will use their offices to save Amamba Uzuakoli from great disaster.

A large number of Uzuakoli youths who were on ground to receive the delegation were grateful for the swift response and prayed God to bring an end to the devastating watershed.
